all in the wording.

So my daughter works for a very large grocery retailer the topic of masks come to mind. Due to a medical condition it is very hard for DD to breathe wearing a mask for long periods of time. They excused her from it now a week plus later they say it is Required... so we looked into it ..
According to OSHA to make required.... the business is required to pay for medical clearances and Provide clean masks for each shift.

The mask they passed out and ask staff to wash is practically see thru and you can blow out a match through it. The manager confessed he was trying to push an issue and the corporation wants all staff to wear for show to the customers but does not require because the cost of compliance to OSHA rules.

So when reading people saying their STATE requires a mask they would be subject to the same OSHA requirements to make sure it is safe for people to wear masks that may interfere with their breathing. Not just make a cloth mask at home.

A recent car wreck was attributed to lady passing out after long time wearing a mask while driving ...I have no idea why she would since she was alone in car, but perhaps she was told it is REQUIRED.
Words like suggests/ recommends / prefers is not the same as REQUIRE..... so is the government going to help with all businesses forced to comply with OSHA respiratory regulations in reopening? you also would need at least N95 masks and a person trained for correct fit etc.

I'm with you. If we read the science, or even listen to how medical professionals are trained on when to wear and take off masks to avoid further spread, we would not be asking the general public to wear them. It's for show and only gives a false sense of security. I've witnessed workers not wearing properly and customers touching mask then touching other things in store. It's particularly disturbing to see people wearing outside when that is the least likely place for a virus to survive...again the science shows this. I have no issue if someone personally feels better or needs it for their own health protection. Health status is very individual, we are not the same, thus why we see completely different outcomes in how the body responds when exposed. I pray more people will be motivated to understand what true health is, and work on making that happen in their own life so they are less susceptible to the worst outcomes of any virus. Our health agencies are failing us by making the same recommendation as 1918, when we know far more now. We also have a population which consists of 50% with chronic illness and rising under the watch of government health agencies. How is that health? I hope things get worked out for your daughter at work.

It is all fine for DD as we asked for the comprehensive respiratory policy as outlined in an OSHA regulation and cited the #.
They admitted it is mostly for show for customers as they know the masks are a placebo effect and are VOLUNTARY. My DD has just lost respect for company that used the belief that no one would check their wording to push what in the end is a PR ploy on employees.
I too have never had an issue with those whom feel safer wearing a mask but I for one am tired of the insults and name calling by those who seem to believe anyone not following suggestions like these are always wrong.

Also the idea that some politicians do not see their is a difference between suggested and REQUIRED. If they say required then they need people to follow those regulations. I work in an industry that is mostly labs it is a lot of work and tons of money to maintain clearances and fit testing masks and continual training.

Maintaining HEALTH is often a personal responsibility issue and this country is big on letting so many feel that whatever issue is NOT their fault.
