need to track better

October 13th, 2018 at 08:32 am

so I just received the 7th check at my new job based on average amount x 7= Q
I think I have about 26 weeks more left on this placement.
I then took Q and subtracted all extra payments on debt only ended up with about half of total of Q...…..

next I subtracted bills paid/ food cost/ gas / and then found I still have about 800 I don't have a clear idea where it went.

I think about 400 went to IRA/ other investment and think the other 400 was split among the savings accounts / checking accounts and a couple of eating out splurges. and a $80 eye cream I bought and LOVE.

I told myself that I was going to pay off more then I did and even though I felt good watching balances drop I feel disappointed that 400 seemed to not be clearly accounted for.

Yes, you need to do a much better job of tracking. Suggest Mint or Personal Capital if you have investments. Both are free.

I dislike the MINT site and the barrage of emails from it.
I get urgent emails warning your car payment is due …. on feb 2019 think I am ok to NOT address that this minute.

I am still looking at where the money went but as I opened up a new savings/ and checking account in this time frame and did many transfers to take advantage of a promotional interest rate on new accounts it seemed to be in that area. I need to recalculate.
When I added up deposits I did not take into account that I split off some small amounts to be auto deposited into new accounts $69.00 x4 =276 and $21x4=84 so now i am missing $40 whew much better

Personal Capital is fairly detailed. I have not used Mint recently, but you should be able to turn off notifications.

Both track your spending. Personal Capital is much better for tracking investments. The only contact is a weekly summary e-mail and the occasional suggestion that you sign up for their investment service, which I ignore.

What's the name of the eye cream? I've been looking for a good one, although it can't have red #40 in it, hence my problem finding one.

Robin, it is from MURAD it is renewing eye crème
Sorry, I had recycled the box that had an ingredient listing to check for the red dye.

    Thanks. I'll look it up.
